Sherwood of Greenwich Custom Builders is a design/build contractor. Our performance has earned the trust of our clients, permitting us to undertake the responsibility of design and planning, which allows for greater management during the construction process versus a traditional contractor. As a design/build contractor, we work hand-in-hand with
the owner to combine our client’s ideas along with our design experience as innovators in the construction field. Subsequently, we set the project’s budget and submit the preliminary plan to our on-staff draftsmen, or retain one of our associate architects to develop all drawings, as opposed to working with an architect who has been separately retained by the owner. A builder is more aware of what their next step should be when the blueprints have originated from their
home office. This method keeps many of the day-today decisions with the contractor and not third party, creating a direct line of communication with owner and builder, resulting in an economically efficient and expeditious construction process.
